EmOn a dark desert highway,
B7Cool wind in my hair
WDsus2arm smell of colitas
A9Rising up through the air
CUp ahead in the distance,
GI saw a shimmering light
MAm7y head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
B7I had to stop for the night
EmThere she stood in the doorway;
B7I heard the mission bell
ADsus2nd I was thinking to myself
A9This could be heaven or this could be hell
CThen she lit up a candle,
GAnd she showed me the way
Am7There were voices down the corridor;
B7I thought I heard them say
CWelcome to the Hotel CalifoGrnia
B7Such a lovely place (Such a lovely place)
EmSuch a lovely face
CPlenty of room at the Hotel CalifGornia
Am7Any time of year (Any time of year)
B7You can find it here
EmHer mind is Tiffany-twisted,
B7She got the Mercedes bends
Dsus2She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys
A9She calls friends
CHow they dance in the courtyard,
GSweet summer sweat
Am7Some dance to remember,
B7Some dance to forget
EmSo I called up the Captain,
B7"Please bring me my wine"
Dsus2He said, "We haven't had that spirit here
A9Since nineteen sixty nine"
CAnd still those voices
GAre calling from far away,
Am7Wake you up in the middle of the night
B7Just to hear them say...
CWelcome to the Hotel CalifGornia
B7Such a lovely place (Such a lovely place)
EmSuch a lovely face
CThey living' it up at the Hotel CaGlifornia
Am7What a nice surprise (what a nice surprise)
B7Bring your alibis
EmMirrors on the ceiling,
B7The pink champagne on ice
Dsus2And she said "We are all just prisoners here,
A9Of our own device"
CAnd in the master's chambers,
GThey gathered for the feast
Am7They stab it with their steely knives,
B7But they just can't kill the beast
EmLast thing I remember, I was
B7Running for the door
Dsus2I had to find the passage back
A9To the place I was before
C"Relax," said the night man,
G"We are programmed to receive.
Am7You can check-out any time you like,
B7But you can never leave! "
