Pulp is a British band formed in Sheffield in 1978, fronted by singer and lyricist Jarvis Cocker. Known for their distinctive blend of alternative rock and Britpop, Pulp rose to prominence in the 1990s with sharp, observational lyrics and stylish, often ironic takes on British life. Their music combines catchy melodies with themes of class, romance, and urban experience. After several lineup changes and a long period of underground activity, they achieved mainstream success in the mid-90s and became one of the key bands of the Britpop era.
