Runrig was a Scottish Celtic rock band formed in 1973. Blending traditional Gaelic music with rock elements, they became known for their powerful live performances and strong cultural themes. Much of their work reflects Scottish history, landscapes, and identity, often featuring lyrics in both English and Scottish Gaelic. Over their long career, they built a loyal fanbase across Europe, especially in Scotland and Germany. The band officially retired in 2018 after a farewell tour.
