Hootie & the Blowfish is an American rock band formed in 1986 in Columbia, South Carolina. The group is best known for its 1994 debut album, Cracked Rear View, which became one of the best-selling albums of all time in the U.S. Their music blends rock, pop, and roots influences, and they are known for catchy melodies and heartfelt lyrics. The band’s lead singer, Darius Rucker, later launched a successful solo career in country music. Despite periods of low activity, the band has reunited for tours and continues to have a dedicated fan base. Their most famous songs include “Only Wanna Be with You,” “Let Her Cry,” and “Hold My Hand.”
