Harry Chapin was an American singer-songwriter and humanitarian, best known for his folk rock storytelling songs. Born in 1942, he rose to fame in the 1970s with hits like "Taxi," "Cat's in the Cradle," and "W.O.L.D." His music often featured rich narratives and social themes. Chapin was also deeply involved in fighting hunger and co-founded World Hunger Year (WHY). He tragically died in a car accident in 1981 at age 38, but his legacy lives on through his music and activism.
