Gordon Bok is an American folk singer, songwriter, and folklorist known for his deep baritone voice and maritime-themed music. Born in 1939 in Camden, Maine, Bok has spent much of his life connected to the sea, which heavily influences his work. He performs both original songs and traditional folk music from around the world, often incorporating stories of sailors, fishermen, and coastal life. In addition to singing in English, he sometimes includes verses in other languages such as Gaelic or Spanish. Bok is also skilled at playing the guitar and other stringed instruments, and he has released numerous albums over several decades.
