Tuning: E A D G B E
Sister Ray by Velvet Underground Guitar Tab Written by Lou Reed, John Cale, Sterling Morrison, Maureen Tucker The other tabs of this I have seen really botched the main riff and don't have much about the lead guitar. The B C E D part of the riff is really overlooked both in tabs and in covers other bands have done for some reason. This is a lot of fun to play along with and improvise to.

Listen to the song to get the rhythm down He hits the strings pretty hard. Plays this at the beginning but after a while it is just a lot of aggressive blues improvising on the G-minor blues Scale: e-1-3-6-8---------------------------------------------------------------------| B-1-3-6-8---------------------------------------------------------------------| G-0-3-5-6---------------------------------------------------------------------| D-0-3-5-----------------------------------------------------------------------| A-0-3-4-5---------------------------------------------------------------------| E-3--6------------------------------------------------------------------------| here is an example of some of the improvisation Reed is doing around 45 seconds into the song. if you want to mimic a common pattern, he often does two eith notes, 3 twelth notes, 2 eigth notes, 3 twelth notes | | e------3---3-|---------------------------------------------------------| B------------V---------------------------------------------------------|
