Capo: 2
edit: i uploaded this when there werent any tabs for this. now there are much
better ones available so i recommend using those. this could still be helpful for
playing along to the lyrics, however.
This is meant to be played by yourself on acoustic and not to the song, but I guess it
would work that way too. Please comment if you have any corrections!
Capo 2 in standard (E) tuning.
I went off of this dude's cover. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjgLZ7kOg-0
He said in the comments "the progression used and the way i play is B (x2x440),
C# (x4x4400), E (022400). The second part of the chorus I start at the E chord (022400),
then I play F# (2x4400), and Ab (4x4400). And youll see how I sweep up and down those
three chords. Hope that helps!"
I'm just matching it up to the lyrics for the sake of convenience.
You can decide whether to leave the other strings open or mute them. I prefer playing it
open, like 024400 instead of x244xx
B 024400
C# 046600
E 022400
F#/B 2x4400
Ab/B 4x4400
G/B 3x4400 (supposed to sound kind of diminished-y)
C/B x24400 (this can be optional, it sounds wrong to me but it's the closet thing I
could try)
This can be played in the verses B C# E C/B
When BI was just a C#boy, we'll call it E15 or so,
I fouBnd myself annoyedC# by a sEyndrome of sorts in my bones
That Bgirl who's C#next to me, she Efound herself bored to tears
B C# E (N.C.)
G/B (N.C.)
She realized that if she wanted conversation, she's out of luck for three
F#/Bmore years
When I Bmoved away from C#home, 100 Emiles or so,
I knew Ba change had C#grown inside my Eawkwardly long limbs and bones
That Bgirl who's next to C#me, she's Efriendly and thoughtful and quite awfully pretty,
B C# Ab/B G/B
But aF#/Bll she has to say is a meat head-themed monologue on why Brad ran away
She said, &Equot; All I can F#/Bhope for isAb/B for me toF#/B get better,
because allE I can F#/Btake is no Ab/Bmore. F#/B
I'll Ewin him back F#/Bagain, we'll be Ab/Blovers, best F#/Bfriends.
He won't Eneed no other F#/Bwoman like he Ab/Bdid way back F#/Bwhen he was with me.
B C#/BHe needed more than mEe
I'm Bfriendly and C#/Bthoughtful and quite Eawfully pretty,
But Bhe needed C#/Bmore than Eme."
When I Bfelt that I should C#/Bleave, we'll call it Emidnight or so,
I foundB myself annoyed by a C#/Bsyndrome of sorts in Eher bones
That Bgirl who's next to C#/Bme, she don't know her Eworth in this town,
because her Bface starts to shine C#/Bwhen that meat head behind me
EIs grinning as he's checking her out
I said, &Equot; All IF#/B can hope for isAb/B for you toF#/B get better,
Because Eall I can F#/Btake is no Ab/Bmore. F#/B
I'll Ehide where I can, F#/Baway from you and your Ab/Bfriends, F#/B
leaking Etears over F#/Bbeers once Ab/Bagain.&quoF#/Bt;
