AIN'T NO SUNSHINE - Bill Withers
Standart Tuning EADGBe
This, as far as I can tell, is how Bill Withers plays it. I really like the cool, jazzy
chords he uses.
With these chords, pick the E string with your thumb, then the D,G, and B strings with
your first three fingers.
e|--------| e|--------| e|--------|
B|-----5--| B|-----0--| B|-----0--|
G|-----5--| G|-----0--| G|-----0--|
D|-----5--| D|-----0--| D|-----0--|
A|--------| A|--------| A|--------|
E|--5-----| E|--0-----| E|--3-----|
With these chords, pick the A string with your thumb, then the G and B strings with your
first two fingers.
e|--------| e|--------|
B|-----8--| B|-----6--|
G|-----7--| G|-----5--|
D|--------| D|--------|
A|--7-----| A|--5-----|
E|--------| E|--------|
He lets the notes ring for a more mellow and darker feel, so try not to play it staccato
or it will sound reggae-ish (unless, of course, that's what you're going for)
During the "I know, I know, I know" part he sings acappella and taps on his guitar. I
wouldn't worry about how many times he repeats "I know", just go by feel.
