Tuning: E A D G B E
Song: A horse with no name
Artist: America
Composer: Dewey Bunnell
Album: America
Tabbed by DJ ('DiddyD' at ultimateGuitar.com) 10th Oct 2016
This chord version is based on Gerry Beckley's 12 string
rhythm guitar part. I think it sounds better for a single
guitar than Dewey Bunnell's 2 chord pattern which had the
benefit of Dan Peek's and Gerry's guitars to back it up.
Dewey Bunnell just used a couple of chords throughout:
Emadd9 = 022002 and D6/9(F# bass)= 200202
Gerry's 12 string was tuned down a tone to D-G-C-F-A-D,
and then a capo at the 2nd fret brought it back up to normal
standard pitch (This was just standard practise to take the
pressure off the guitar neck) There is no need for a capo
or detuning to play this on a six string, the chords are just
the same.
NOTE: Please ignore any pop-up chord boxes the website might
automatically suggest and use the typed shapes shown below.
Em = 022000 Em9 = 020032 F#m11 = x44200 A6sus2 = x04200
F#m11 = 244200 (This is also an option if you want to add
the F# bass with your thumb)
