The Allman Brothers Band was an American rock band formed in 1969 in Jacksonville, Florida. Known for pioneering Southern rock, they blended blues, jazz, and country influences. The group was led by guitarist Duane Allman and his brother, singer/keyboardist Gregg Allman. Their improvisational live performances, especially on albums like At Fillmore East (1971), earned them critical acclaim. Despite tragedies and lineup changes, including Duane’s death in 1971, the band remained influential and continued performing for decades. They are best known for songs like "Ramblin’ Man", "Jessica", and "Whipping Post."
