Tears for Fears is a British pop rock band formed in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. Known for their emotionally charged lyrics and polished production, they rose to fame in the 1980s with hits like "Shout," "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," and "Mad World." Their debut album The Hurting (1983) was a dark, synth-heavy exploration of emotional trauma, while their follow-up Songs from the Big Chair (1985) brought international success. The band has continued to release music and tour, with a blend of new material and classic hits.
