Soft Cell is a British synth-pop duo formed in 1977, consisting of vocalist Marc Almond and instrumentalist David Ball. Known for their distinctive blend of electronic music and emotional storytelling, they rose to prominence in the early 1980s. Soft Cell played a key role in shaping the synth-pop and new wave scenes with their theatrical style, dark lyrics, and minimalist sound. After initially disbanding in 1984, they reunited several times and continue to perform and release music, maintaining a strong cult following.
