The Sisters of Mercy are an English rock band formed in Leeds in 1980. Known for their dark, atmospheric sound, they are one of the most influential bands in the gothic rock genre. The band blends elements of post-punk, hard rock, and electronic music. Their best-known songs include "Temple of Love," "This Corrosion," and "Lucretia My Reflection." The band's only constant member is Andrew Eldritch, the distinctive baritone vocalist and frontman. Despite releasing only three studio albums—First and Last and Always (1985), Floodland (1987), and Vision Thing (1990)—they remain a cult favorite and continue to tour.
