Nickel Creek is an American progressive acoustic band known for blending elements of bluegrass, folk, country, and pop. Formed in the late 1980s in California, the group consists of Chris Thile (mandolin), Sara Watkins (fiddle), and Sean Watkins (guitar). Celebrated for their instrumental skill, rich harmonies, and genre-crossing sound, Nickel Creek helped bring modern bluegrass to a wider audience. They gained critical acclaim with their self-titled album in 2000 and have since released several albums showcasing their musical evolution and experimentation.
