Inspiral Carpets were an English alternative rock band formed in Oldham in the late 1980s. They were part of the "Madchester" scene, which blended indie rock with psychedelic and dance influences. Known for their distinctive sound featuring Farfisa organ and a garage rock edge, the band gained popularity during the early 1990s. Inspiral Carpets disbanded in 1995, reunited in the 2000s, and remained active until the mid-2010s. Their music is often associated with the vibrant British indie movement of the era.
