The Housemartins were a British indie pop band from Hull, England, active in the 1980s. Known for their jangly guitar sound, a cappella harmonies, and socially conscious lyrics, they combined catchy melodies with political and religious themes. The band featured Paul Heaton as lead singer and Norman Cook (later known as Fatboy Slim) on bass. Despite their short time together, they left a lasting impact on the UK music scene before disbanding in 1988.
