Hi-Standard is a Japanese punk rock band formed in 1991. Known for their energetic melodic punk style, they gained popularity both in Japan and internationally, particularly in the 1990s. Singing mostly in English, Hi-Standard became one of the first Japanese punk bands to break into the global scene. They're also recognized for their DIY ethic and for founding Pizza of Death Records, an influential independent label. Their music blends fast-paced rhythms with catchy melodies and emotional intensity.
