Greg Lake was an English musician, singer, and songwriter best known as a founding member of the progressive rock bands King Crimson and Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP). Born in 1947, he played bass, guitar, and was also known for his distinctive vocals. With King Crimson, he helped shape the sound of early progressive rock, and with ELP, he achieved global fame during the 1970s, combining classical influences with rock music. Lake also had a successful solo career and was respected for his musical versatility and powerful stage presence. He passed away in 2016.
