Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a German theologian, pastor, and anti-Nazi dissident. He is best known for his deep Christian faith, resistance to the Nazi regime, and involvement in a plot to overthrow Adolf Hitler. Bonhoeffer’s writings, including works on ethics and discipleship, have had a lasting influence on Christian thought. He was imprisoned by the Nazis and executed in 1945, shortly before the end of World War II.
