Crosby, Stills & Nash (often abbreviated as CSN) was an American folk rock supergroup formed in 1968, consisting of David Crosby (The Byrds), Stephen Stills (Buffalo Springfield), and Graham Nash (The Hollies). Known for their rich vocal harmonies, politically conscious lyrics, and acoustic sound, CSN played a key role in shaping the sound of the late 1960s and 1970s. Their debut album, Crosby, Stills & Nash (1969), was a critical and commercial success, featuring classics like "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" and "Marrakesh Express." When Neil Young joined them, the group became CSNY, adding a more electric rock edge. CSN (and CSNY) are known for their influence on American counterculture, especially during events like Woodstock, and are considered one of the first true supergroups in rock history.
