Billy Preston was an American musician, singer, and songwriter best known for his work as a keyboardist. Born on September 2, 1946, he gained fame for his soulful organ and piano playing, blending rock, soul, and gospel influences. Preston collaborated with many major artists, including The Beatles, with whom he played on tracks like "Get Back" (he was one of the few musicians credited on a Beatles single). He also worked with The Rolling Stones, Ray Charles, and Eric Clapton. As a solo artist, his hits include "Nothing from Nothing," "Will It Go Round in Circles," and "Outa-Space." Known as the “Fifth Beatle” by some, Billy Preston left a major mark on music history before his death in 2006.
