Thought I'd clear something up here; in the live acoustic version Warren Haynes uses a capo on the third fret. So, this song is much easier to play, and sounds much better with the open chords rather than the barre chords required for the key of Bb. Also, it doesn't sound too bad played without a capo. Use 16th note pendulum strumming along with the occasional G6 and Dsus4's to make the song sound a bit fuller. Have fun. -EzE Soulshine by Warren Haynes Intro: G D Em F (x2)
GWhen you can't fDind the light, that gCot you through the cloudy dGays, GWhen the stars ain't sDhinin' bright, you fCeel like you've lost you're Gway, GWhen those candle liDghts of home, bCurn so very far aGway, GWell you got to let your Dsoul shine, Emjust like my daddy used to Fsay.
[Chorus]
He used to say sGoulshine, it's better than sDunDsus4shine,D It's better than mCoonshine, damn sure better than rGainG6. G Hey now people dGon't mind, we all get this way sDometime, Got to let your Emsoul shine, sFhine till the break of GdaG6y. G
I grew up thinkin' that I had it made, gonna make it on my own. Life can take the strongest man, make him feel so alone. Now and then I feel a cold wind, blowin' through my achin' bones, I think back to what my daddy said, he said "Boy, in the darkness before the dawn:" [Chorus]
EmSometimes a man can fCeel this emptiness, Like a woman has robbed him of his very sGoul. A Bmwoman too, God knows, she can fCeel like this. And when your woFrld seems cold, you got to let your spiDriDsus4t takeD control.
[Chorus]
