Tuning:
TRUSTcompany - Downfall
From TRUSTco's Geffen debut, "The Lonely Position of Neutral"
Tabbed by: Kyle Peacock (Iost) 06/25/03 thefallingsickness@yahoo.com
Figured out by: Kyle Peacock and Jason Bodycott over the course of our
junior year.
Tuning:
Guitar 1: C#-G#-C#-F#-G#-D# (Kevin plays in this tuning on every TRUSTco song
on the record, it's just Drop C# with the B string
dropped down an extra step, if you see my Hover tab
you'll understand how nice it can be :-P)
Guitar 2: C#-G#-C#-F#-A#-D# (James plays regular Drop C#)
These tunings have been discussed ad nauseaum on the TRUSTco msg boards,
and with Kevin and James themselves. This is their standard setup. James
plays in Kevin's tuning only on Hover. Some of the new songs that they played
live this winter and spring are in Drop C, and they have begun to play a few
random songs (such as Figure 8) in Drop C as well. This is NOT one of them.
That's not to say these transcriptions are necessarily 100% straight from the
source, but after the 10 live TRUSTco shows we've been to, we'd like to think
that's it's about 90% on the money at least. The main problem that I have with
most tabs for this is the incorrect rhythm of the intro, the improper harmonics,
and the complete lack of two guitar structure. :-p
Intro: Guitar 1 and 2 (for best results, alternate your strumming, i.e. not
just down)
|---------------------------------------------|
|---------------------------------------------|
|-------------------------------5--5--5--5--5-| x 2

Guitar 1 Continues with Intro 2x more while
Guitar 2 plays
|---------------------------------------------|
|---------------------------------------------|
|--9---------------------------10-10-10-10-10-| x 2
|--X--repeatedly----------------X--X--X--X--X-|
|--7----------------------------8--8--8--8--8-|
|---------------------------------------------|
The x81010xx's and the x355xx's should be played at the same time.
James is using some kind of wah pedal effect and maybe something else
during his part (Guitar 2), but it sounds passable without it.
Verse: No guitar
Prechorus: i.e. "STEP DOWN!" Both guitars play the intro (the first two parts)
Chorus:
|-----------------------|
|-----------------------| There seem to be some additional guitar parts
|--------5--------------| x 2 overdubbed here, but they aren't really
|--2-----5-----5-----0--| necessary.
|--2-----3-----5-----0--|
|--2-----------5-----0--|
Post-chorus: Guitar 1 plays the intro again 2x, while Guitar 2 plays the other intro
part 2x.
Verse: No guitar again
Pre-chorus: Yes, you play BOTH strings during the harmonic parts
For the best sound, strum the harmonics (don't just downpicking).
ONLY GUITAR 1 PLAYS THE HARMONICS
