Watch when he plays it live to help see how he holds his hands, its your 1st finger on the 5th fret of the D string and your 3rd finger on the 7th fret of the A string, then your first finger on the 5th fret of the A string and your 3rd finger on the 7th fret of the D string, and finally you just slide that shape down so that your 1st finger is on the 3rd fret of the A string and your 3rd fingers is on the 5th fret of the D string.
