If you Am7see something that looks like a Bm/Astar,

Don't Am7worry too much, it'll happen to Bm/Ayou,
Am7We were children once, playing with Bm/Atoys. Am7 Bm/A

The percentage you're paying is Dtoo high A7a price,
While you're living beyond Dall your A7means.
And the man in the suit has just bought Da new A7car,
From the C/Gprofit he's Gmade on your Ddreams.
But C/Gtoday you Gjust read that Dthe man C/Gwas shot Gdead,
By a C/Ggun that Gdidn't make any Dnoise.C/G G
[Bridge 2]
But it Awasn't the bullet that Elaid him to rest, was,

Am7Don't worry too much, it’ll happen to Bm/Ayou,
Am7As sure as your sorrows are Bm/Ajoys. Am7 Bm/A
[Bridge 3]
And the Athing that disturbs you is Eonly the sound of,
The Glow spark of Dhigh-heeled Cboys.
[Chorus 2]
A7The percentage you're paying is tDoo high a pA7rice,
While you're living Dbeyond all your A7means.
And the man in the suit has just Dbought a A7new car,

But C/Gtoday you just Gread that tC/Ghe man was Gshot dead,
By a C/Ggun that didn't Gmake any Dnoise.C/G G

[Verse 4]
If I gave yAm7ou everything that I Bm/Aowned,
And Am7asked for nothing in Bm/Areturn.
Would you Am7do the same for me as I would for Bm/Ayou? Am7 Bm/A
Or Am7take me for a Bm/Aride,
And Am7strip me of everything, including my Bm/Apride.
Am7But spirit is something that no one Bm/Adestroys.Am7 Bm/A

NOTES:
1. I have tried to make this classic Traffic song, more accessible on Capo 5. I have played it through
with a few reservations about the Bm/A. Although, it produces the closest sound to their ascending and
descending chords, that I can achieve.
2. Much the song’s appeal lies in the unique contributions from each band member. “David Lubin wrote
in his album review that appeared in Rolling Stone Magazine in 1972, "Each member of the group lays
down a track or tracks which could in parts stand alone."”
3. ‘The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys’ (album) is the fifth studio album by English rock band Traffic,
released in 1971. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Low_Spark_of_High_Heeled_Boys
