I was given this as a lesson song by a folky-type teacher a few years back when it was more widely known as a Stevie Nicks song. I agree, it's a very pretty one. I've only caught just the end of the Smashing Pumpkins version for the first time yesterday, but it sounded pretty similar (I thought it *was* Stevie Nicks 'til I listed closer). How cool - I used to just know old, mellow stuff, now I can play a Smashing Pumpkins number! Anyway, here's a shot at getting this across clearly: The picking pattern for the verses is String: 5 3 4 2 3 4 Timing: 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & The chords for the verses are C: X32010 G6: X20030 Am: X02210 C G6 Am G6 One measure of each, 4 measures per line of lyrics, over and over and over.
