This is my first attempt but let me know what you think. I have taken this from a
recent acoustic gig I saw with just Joel and Luke.
Capo 5th Fret
V1
GWalk out of the door and make my way up the street
GCold wind in my eyes runs a tear down my cheek
EMNot a soul to be heard so no point to complain
EMAt least the sound of the birds compensates for the rain
GHit the queue for the bus and then join the line
GSame faces for the last ten years of my life
EMSee I'm bored of my friends I couldn't tell you their names
EMShattered glass on the floor the kids have run out of gamGes
GAnd I don't see that's ever gonna chaEMnge
V2
GOne hour passes till I'm back on my feet
GA stone's throw I will be walking till I'm off the street
EMHang my coat to dry, settle down with the herd
EMSome I really don't mind, some just get on my nerves
GTurn my back to the clock cause it slows the time
GTake out a cigarette and hear the match strike
EMTurn the radio on to drown the sound of the rain
EMSame bands same songs play again and again
GAnd I don't see that's ever gonna chaEMnge
CTell me DI'm not rEMight say what you lCike ID'm miles awEMay
CAnd expect nothing changing eDxcept for the name of the dGay.
V3
GFrom my place of work I move away in haste
GTime there moves slow but rushes when I'm away
EMPass a girl from my school the conversation's brief
EMGotta catch that train, get myself some relief
GI meet up with friends and they knock off at six
GI get in at five and walk about for a bit
EMWatch the world go by through an empty glass
EMAnd I know that won't be the last 'so'
CTell me DI'm not rEMight say what you lCike ID'm miles awEMay
CAnd expect nothing changing eDxcept for the name of the dGay.
V4
GCreep back into bed and I pull up the sheet
GHigh over my head and undercover my feet
EMTill the room goes dark and i'm miles away
EMJump to the alarm and start another day!
