This maybe the easiest song you'll ever play, it is 2 chords C and G and is the same all the way through. It is the first complete song I learned and the first song I played 'live' (if bashing chords with my friends band at the local pub with about 30 people watching counts). Great for beginners because, although it is simple, it's a great song. Playing the verses with a short pause between each chord sounds good or failing that just strum along however you like!
