The Ataris - The boys of summer

Everybody seem's to like the 6 4 2 on A. Alright. So that is D# C# and B This setup allows for an easier way to hit a really "dropped" note in the progression. Where many seem to like the progression of 6 2 4 2 This would on the D string be 13 9 11 9 Well, what if you hit 4'th on D? F# This variant on that progression not only fits, but hitting F# as your low is much deeper than a B as a low. And changes the shape of the progression. This I do when I change the rhythm slightly between chorus and verse. This differentiats the chorus every slightly. But that diffference is what makes it shine from the original. Covers are usually more "hardcore" after all. Playing these same notes on the dropped D changes the tonality and you can adjust your fingering as needed for the guitars palm mute parts. Being low enough to sound palm muted without having to be or use a pick. There are a few rhythms to use that change per section. 1234~23~ 12~4123~ *note that within the verse.. just.. play it.
