Midnight in Harlem - Tedeschi Trucks Band
Tabbed by: John Vaughan
E-mail: Johnvaughan0@msn.com
Tuning: Open E
I really took some time with this one and watched the live videos to see his fingerings.
I'm sure it's not
perfect but it's the best one out there! I havent't done the solo because this song is
meant to be
expressive and you can't do that by copying somebody else. Anyways, the song is in open
E tuning and played
by finger picking the entire way through. You'll get the jist of the finger picking
when you start to play.
The chorus is really just a skeleton of what is played because Derek likes to throw
around a bunch of
fills in that section as well as in the bridge. Have fun with it and keep it loose!
The pattern of the song is as follows:
Intro x1
Verse x6
Chorus x1
Intro x2
Verse x5
Bridge x2
Chorus x1
The jam is pretty much a full chord version
of the Verse 8 and 1/2 times followed
by a slide up to the E i think.
Intro:
e--0----0----0----0-----------0----0----0----0------------------------------------|
B--0----2----4----2-----------0----2----4----5------------------------------------|
G#-0----0----0----0-----------0----0----0----0------------------------------------|
E---------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B--0----2////4----2-----------0----2////4----5------------------------------------|
E---------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Verse:
E--0----0----0----0-----------------------------------|
B--0----2----4----5------7/9/7----7/9/7---------------|
G#-0----0----0----0------5-5-5--- 5-5-5---------------|
E------------------------5-5-5----5-5-5---------------|
B--0----2----4----5-----------------------------------|
E-----------------------------------------------------|
Chorus: Walk that line.......
e----5--------------------4--------0------0------5-------4------------------------|
B----5--------------------4--------0------2------5-------4------------------------|
G#---5--------------------3--------0------0------5-------3------------------------|
E----5--------------------4----------------------5-------4------------------------|
B----5-----------------------------0------2------5--------------------------------|
E----5-------------------------------------------5--------------------------------|
Bridge: Streets are windy part......
e----5-------4-------9-------7----------------------------------------------------|
B----5-------4-------9-------7----------------------------------------------------|
G#---5-------3-------8-------7----------------------------------------------------|
E----5-------4-------9-------7----------------------------------------------------|
B----5-----------------------7----------------------------------------------------|
E----5-----------------------7----------------------------------------------------|
Again, not perfect but a way better guess than any of the other tabs i've seen.
Have fun guys! Email me with any corrections and I'll be glad to add them.
Cheers!
