Version 1 was basiclly good, but I didn't like those D Chord Variations in the Chorus, as they were tough to
play for a beginner, and didn't sound fine either. This song is great for a beginner guitar player and I think
I made the change to let it sound better and make it easier to play. Enjoy!
The only difficult part in this song is the strumming, you have to experiment a lot until you get that right.
Intro:
Bm A Bm A Bm A
I've seen the Bmyellow lights go Adown the MississBmippi A
I've seen the Bmbridges of the Aworld and they are for Bmreal A Bm
I've had a Gred light off-the-Awrist without me Deven getting kissed
It Gstill seems so unAreal
I've seen the morning in the mountains of Alaska
I've seen the sunset in the East and in the West
I've sang the glory that was Rome
And passed the 'Hound Dog' singer's home
It still seems for the best
And I'm Dfar, far aBmway
With my Ghead up in the Aclouds
And I'm Dfar, far aBmway
With my Gfeet down in the Acrowds
Letting Dloose around the Bmworld
But the Gcall of home is F#loud
Still as Bmloud A Bm A Bm A
I've seen the Paris lights from high upon Montmartre
And felt the silence hanging low in No Man's Land
And though those Spanish nights were fine
It wasn't only from the wine
It still seems all in hand
And I'm far, far away, &c...
I've seen the yellow lights go down the Mississippi
The Grand Bahama Island stories carry on
And though those aligator smiles
Stay in your memory for a while
There still seems more to come
And I'm far, far away &c...
(twice!)
