Well ^AI found out too late what uncle ^DHarvey called an airplane Wasnt ^E7nuthin but an engine and a ^Awing and I could ^Dfeel my fear a-risen as ^GDelmer packed the parachute cause he kept ^Atellin me ayes doin the right ^Dthing

Well I thanked God and Delmer Gilles when that ^Gparachute finally opened I said ^Ahell, there aint no use in bein ^Dafraid and I went crashin through the hen-house scattering ^Gchickens and breakin eggs and I ^Akissed the ground and fainted dead a^Dway.

Now friends I've done some fightin, and I've been^G shot at once or twice, and I ^Adern-near got run over by a ^Dtrain. But I can't recall the day that I was ^Gmany more afraid Then the ^Aday I jumped from Uncle Harvey's ^DPlane.
