Chords are a tad different than standard (mostly just the Bm):
e|---G3---Bm-3---Em-3---D/F#-3----C3----|
B|---3----3----3----3----3----|
G|---0----2----0----2----0----|
D|---0----x----2----0----2----|
A|---2----2----2----0----3----|
E|---3---------0----2---------|
This style of playing in the key of G should be fairly well known, though, but it's for
who don't know it. :P
Verse 1:
IG'll admit to Bmwho I am
The Emday I come to uD/F#nderstand
I hCaven't got a clue
C G D/F#* Em D/F#*
Been searching for a few years now
Verse 2:
Well Gif I don't repBmeat myself
Then IEm'll change into soD/F#meone else
Well CI don't quite know who
Been sCearching for a few years now
Chorus:
I'm oCver it
Yeah beD/F#hind me now
I'm just oEmver it G
OCver it
Yeah I'm fD/F#inding out
I'm just oEmver it G
No, CI don't know what's D/F#over just yet
But I wEmon't go slow and tGime can let the mCind forget
D/F#* G
Don't tell me you don't know
D/F#* Em
Already
D/F#* G
(Don't tell me you let go
D/F#* Em
Already)
Verse 3:
GI'll protect your uBmniverse
Or mEmake a mess to mD/F#ake it worse
TCime will only tell
YCou and no one else so
Bridge:
You say you mCade up your mind and you've fD/F#inally decided
But tEmhose that helped you choose
HCaven't the slightest D/F#clue as to the mEmagnitude of what yCou're about to lose
Verse 4:
I'm guGarded and therefore BmI can endure
A lEmittle bit more
Just a lD/F#ittle bit more
TChan some people would
If I'm nCot misunderstood
It's still an attGempt to be egoless wBmhile self-assured
If IEm'm still unsure that D/F#I'm pretty sure
That CI am pretty good
GCod, you know I'm good and
Side-notes:
- D/F# can be interchanged with a regular D major chord except for the starred ones
sounds better, lol)
- Every chord should be around the place that they're actually played except for the
in the chorus because there's no space :\
- The parts of verses where there's two lines of C's can be replaced with:
C Em
YouCr choice onD/F# which you prefer. However, the verse 1 seems to be just C, at least.
- The only time you actually fully play the chorus is at the end. The first time into
chorus (after verse 2), you end after the first "Already," playing D/F# to go into the G
the third verse.
The second time into the chorus (after verse 3), you play/sing the "Don't tell me you
go," but you don't sing the following "Already" and instead play D/F# then C to go into
Bridge.
