The bass notes on F/A and Bb/F sound a lot better if played on a real bass and/or a piano, but if you only have a guitar, I guess that's better then nothing... Just pile on the distortion and hit single or pairs of strings in the chord pretty much at random. As long as you keep the 'feel' of the song you can't go far wrong.
