This is how I see it, I would appreciate some feedback because I have only been playing for 10 weeks and
some of the chords might be out, if you know better chords then please amend this and tell me to help me
my learning, it really is an excellent song.
I have always liked this one:
First Verse :
CCome in sit down, pull up a chair
SFpeak the truth when you tell me your cares
DGon't be afraid to talk to your brother
Get a hCold of yoursFelf and Gdry up your Ctears
We'll Cstart at the start and end at the end
You'll Ffind that your mind might possibly mend
Well Gsure I can help you 'cos you can't help yourself
Have you Cfallen in Flove Gagain ? , have you Cfallen in Flove Gagain ?
Full Chorus:
C (D)
Sister Jane you gonna change your name
F (G)
You gotta get out soon before you go insane
G (A)
Before the town starts talkin' , when they see you out walkin'
C (D) G (A) C(D) G(A)
It sure does seem a shame, yes it sure does seem a shame

C (D) F G (A) C (D)
And that ain't gonna be much fun, Sister Jane

CWe'll talk of the future, we'll talk of the past
The Fodds were against you, it never could last
You Gcan't think opinions that change overnight
When you Cknow what you Fdone just ain't Gright
You Cdon't mean to tell me you finally done it
You Fplayed at the game and you thought you had won it
And Gnow that you find that you're way out of line
Well Csome people Fcall it a Gcrime, yeah, you Creally have Fdone it this Gtime
Half Chorus Only :
CSister Jane you gonna change your name
You gotta Fget out soon before you go insane
Before the Gtown starts talkin' , when they see you out walkin'
It Csure does seem a Gshame, yes it Csure does seem a Gshame, Sister CJane
Third Verse :
You Dtold me the truth, you opened your mind
I Gsaid I would listen and help you unwind
My Adear Sister Jane you've caused nothing but pain
And I Dreally must Gtell you this Atime
I Dknew all along you had to go wrong
In Gthis kind of town you could never belong
I'm Asorry for you and I'm sorry for me
TDhis is the Gway it should Aend
'Cos you've Dfallen in Glove Aagain, Awe-ell.
Full Chorus :
(Use chords in brackets for the final chorus, down to 'point of a gun then repeat chorus and fade, and in
line "it sure does seem a shame" only sing this once in the final chorus and not twice as in the other
of the chorus)
A classic piece that was a winner for the group New World back in 1972 on the British TV Show 'Opportunity Knocks'
