This is my very first tab so there may be mistakes. I love this song and noticed there was no chord chart for it yet so I thought I would share how I play this song. Feel free to comment with corrections. Feedback is appreciated! The song has a 6/8 time signature. The strum/pick pattern I use is one strum down on chord change and then finger pick the upbeats on the top 2-3 strings. Intro: C/G Am/E
C/GWe started out we were much younger You Am/Etaught me the fire and I taught you the hunger But I Fremember love GLove don't remember me C Then we went C/Gout we got much older You Am/Ewaited like an angel and I pined like a soldier But I Fremember love GLove don't remember me C It's been a Am/Elong long time Since I've been C/Gon your mind But I can-Am/Enot decline Anything for Fyou C C/GI'll drink the whiskey you'll drink gin and tonic Am/EYou got much more stronger I got more neurotic But I Fremember love GLove don't remember me
Instrumental Break: C/G Am/E F G C
Now that I've Am/Ebeen replaced I have the C/Gguts to face You're in a-Am/Enother place And seem much bet-Fter G I'll C/Gwait in the bar rooms and you'll wait at the station We'll Am/Edream of each other in our old situation And I'll reFmember love GLove don't remember me C And I'll reFmember love GLove don't remember me C And I'll reFmember our love GIt won't remember me C
Notes: I use the split chords (C/G and Am/E) to add a little more depth to the tones, but it isn't necessary to play the split chord. They're both fairly simple. On C/G it's the same as an open chord C except you add the third fret on the low E string, and Am/E is exactly the same except you also play the low E string. Most of the chords you strum down four times before changing the chord (2 measures in 6/8 time) except for F and G you'll only strum down twice (1 measure). I tried to put the chord changes exactly where they appear in the lyrics, however listen to the song to get the exact timing down. Email with comments or feedback: davelopez23@gmail.com Thanks!
