“Sail Away Ladies” is a mainstay of the old-time fiddle repertoire, popularized by Uncle Bunt Stephens’ 1926 recording included on Harry Smith’s Anthology of American Folk Music (as “Sail Away Lady”), and is also performed as a folk song with the familiar lyrical refrain “don’t you rock ’em daddy-o” (and variations on that pronunciation).
