On the original recording Lonnie seems to mix up personal pronouns and names a few times
so I've written it
to fit what made most sense to me, some lines aren't entirely accurate but I believe
they work well enough.
Also some lines I couldn't quite figure out for the life of me so I wrote my best approximations.
(Also edited this to fix a few issues)
EAh well Frankie and Johnny were sweethearts
Lordy how they could love
Ah, they Aswore to be true to each other
Just as true as the skies Eabove
He was her B7man, he wouldn't do her Ewrong.
EWell Frankie and Johnny went walking
Johnny had on a new suit
Yeah AFrankie spent one hundred dollars
Just to make her man look Ecute
He was her B7man, he wouldn't do herE wrong.
&Equot;Well Frankie see, I'm gonna leave you
But I wont be very long.
Ah, Adon't you wait up for me honey,
Don't you worry while I'm Egone.
I'm your B7man, I wouldn't do you Ewrong."
ESo Frankie walked down to the Huddy saloon
And she called for a bottle of beer.
And she Asaid to the old bar-tender man
"Has my loving Johnny man Ebeen here?
He was my B7man, but he been doing me wErong, so wrong."
&Equot;Well see I don't want to cause you no trouble,
Well I don't want to tell you no lies
Yeah AI see your Johnny
Making love with Nelly EBly.
He was your B7man, but he been doing you Ewrong, so wrong."
ESo Frankie walked over to the transit-door
And there to her great surprise
There Asat her lover Johnny
Making love with Nelly EBly
He was her B7man, but he being her Ewrong, so wrong.
ESo as Nelly lifted up her kimono dress
Drew a little 44
Hey Arum-tum-tum, three times she shot him,
Right through that hardwood Edoor
She shot heB7r man, but he been doing heEr wrong, so wrong.
EHe said "Roll me over so careful
Hey, roll me over so slow
Hey, Aroll me onto my left side
Your bullets they hurt me Eso
I was your B7man, but I been doing your Ewrong, so wrong".
E (Spoken fast over E chord)
They sent for Johnny's mother, she come down to the Huddy saloon asking what's the
matter with her boy and
what's he talking about
EHe said "Oh Mrs Johnson
See what your son has got
Don't be Arockin', a' don't be stompin'
But your little Johnny-boy's been Eshot
He was her B7man, but he been doing her Ewrong, so wrong"
EShe said "oh Mrs Johnson
Oh forgive me please
I know I Akilled your loving son Johnny
But I'm down on a bended Eknee
I shot your B7man, but he was doing me Ewrong, so wrong.
EShe said "I forgive you Frankie"
She said "I forgive you not"
"OhA you killed my loving son Johnny
He was the only boy I Egot
You shot my B7man, ah he was doing you Ewrong, so wrong."
EAnd last time I see Frankie
She was still in a dungeon cell
All day Aweeping, all day moaning
Cos his soul is going dowEn to hell
B7,
She shot her man, but he was doing her wrong, so wrong.
EShe said "Now bring your drum and tired hearses
And a bring up your pony and trap
I'm gonna Atakea' my Johnny to the grave yard
I ain'ta gonna bring him Eback
He was my B7man, but he been doing me Ewrong, so wrong".
EHey the story aint had no moral
Well the story aint got no end
Well the Astory only goes to show show you
There's no damn good in Emen
She shot her B7man, and he was doing her Ewrong.
