Tuning:
Hey, first tab I've done and it's more accurate than the one currently up chords-wise [as of writing], thought I'd do the acoustic chord variation though because it sounds so nice on guitar. Props to the other tab for the chorus chords though [Taylor Swiftfan]. Props also to Lisa for writing such a beautiful song. Structure: Verse = E, A. On 'E' Move middle finger from 2nd fret on the A string to the 2nd fret on the E string to get the third [I don't know what] chord she plays. The A ['spin me round the room like a'] is played using an E pattern barring the 5th fret. Back to E for ['marionette']. For the E bits you strum down once on the first 3-4 strings [i.e 6, 5, 4, 3...], pause, then strum up on the last 2-3 strings. You then move into the E variation on which you only strum the 6,5,4,3 strings. Strum down-up like: 1-2, 1-2, 1-2, 1-2 then back to E. The alternative is just to use the F#m as apparently used in the album version instead of the E variation. Bridge = C#m i.e Am barring fourth fret, but then she moves the barring down to 3rd, then perhaps again? I personally can't reach that far down but I'm shit at guitar. The Bb half diminished sounds right though. Chorus = as the other tab put it, really simple: B, F#m, A, E. Just to be clear I'm going to call the E variation 'E[var]' and it's like this: e|-x-------------| B|-x-------------| G|-1-------------| D|-2-------------| A|-0-------------| E|-2-------------| [Intro] [E, E[var] x2] [Verse 1] E E[var] Pirouette E E[var] A single step
Oh won't you Aspin me round the room E E[var] Like a marionette
[Interlude] [E, E[var] x2] [Verse 2] E E[var] And lonely maestro E E[var] Spin me real slow
Oh I just need Asomething to get me through E E[var] The thick of it
[Pre-Chorus]
And we had C#meverything C#m [-1bar] C#m [-2bar] Bb half diminished From time to time Yeah we had Aeverything From time to time
[Chorus]
BCome lay F#mdown in the Awa- Eter BWe're all F#msons and Adaugh E-ters BRest your F#mhead by the Aalter, E-er/oh BCome lay F#mdown in the Awa- Eter
Rest of the song follows the same pattern.
