Little ^Gsheep were crying and ^Cbleating So afraid of what was going ^Gone They ran to their ^D7mamas When the shearing was ^Gdone

Oh it didnt take very ^Clong To rob them of their ^Gcoats And they stood there, ^D7shakin It seemed so very ^Gwrong

Shearing was a necessary oper- ^C-ation As the folks often exp- ^Glained But it left a permanent ^D7impression On this little boy, just the ^Gsame

It happened every ^Csummer As best I can re- ^Gcall The wool from their ^D7bodies Gave clothes for us ^Gall
