I disagree with the other three tabs for this song. Here is the way that sounds right to me: Tom Dooley During the into and breaks between verses, you should alternate between E and Esus4 by your baby finger up and down on the C# (fifth string, fret 2) while holding the E chord traditional form.
EHang down your head Tom Dooley, Hang down your head and Fmcry,
Hang down your head Tom Dooley,
Poor boy, your bound to Edie, EI met her on the mountain, and there I took her Fmlife,
Met her on the mountain,
stabbed her with my Eknife, EHang down your head Tom Dooley, Hang down your head andFm cry,
Hang down your head Tom Dooley,
Poor boy, your bound to Edie, EThis time tomorrow, reckon' where I'dFm be,
Hadn't been for Grayson,
I'd been in TennesEsee,
EHang down your head Tom Dooley, Hang down your head andFm cry,
Hang down your head Tom Dooley,
Poor boy, your bound to Edie,
EThis time tomorrow, reckon' where I'llFm be,
Down in some lonesome valley,
hangin' from a wide oak Etree,
EHang down your head Tom Dooley, Hang down your head and Fmcry,
Hang down your head Tom Dooley,
Poor boy, your bound to Edie, EHang down your head Tom Dooley, Hang down your head andFm cry,
Hang down your head Tom Dooley,
Poor boy, your bound to Edie.
