Hi, all. I tried to get as close to as how Kenny Chesney plays the song in this version. As seen in the music video, he plays with the Capo on the first fret. In the Intro and Outro I've tried both D-Bm-Em-G and D-Bm-A-G but having played to the track I believe it's more accurate to play D-Bm-Em-G. If you disagree with me, please do so nicely in the comments. The lick that he plays in the Intro and Outro also appears at the end of Chorus 1 as it leads into Verse 2 and so your timing for the Bm-Em transitions should match to the lick the same way that it did when he played the lick in the Intro. Capo 1 Intro: D Bm Em G Verse 1:
DLooks like a royal in a thrift store dress BmKeeps my heart and her hair a mess AShe goes where the wind suggests she Ggoes, who knows DGot a spirit that can’t be tamed She’s a Bmcalico pony on an open plain AI know I’ll never be the same no Gmore, for sure
Chorus 1:
She’s a Dwild child Got a rebel soul with a whole lot of gypsy Bmwild style She can’t be tied down but for a wAhile GI’ll Be Emfalling free and so alive Might Gbreak my heart but AGod she drives me so Dwild childBm Em
Verse 2:
DYou’ve never heard of her favorite band Unless you’ve Bmbeen to Bonnaroo or Burning Man She’s Apenny lane in a Chevy van, she Gloves to love
Chorus 2:
She loves me Dwild child Got a rebel soul with a whole lot of gypsy Bmwild style She can’t be tied down but for a wAhile GI’ll Be Emfalling free and so alive Might Gbreak my heart but AGod she drives me so Dwild child
Bridge:
EmShe’ll be here until she Aruns EmSome just have to chase the Gsun
Chorus 3:
She’s a Dwild child Got a rebel soul with a whole lot of gypsy Bmwild style She can’t be tied down but for a wAhile GI’ll Be Emfalling free and so alive Might Gbreak my heart but AGod she drives me so Dwild child
Verse 3:
DA kaleidoscope of colors in her Bmmind child A touch of crazy hides behind her wAild sGmile So Emsimple yet experimental GInnocent but Astill a little Dwild child
Outro: Bm Em G D Bm Em G D Bm Em (G) (D) (Em) Note: Parentheses = single strum Following the music video version of the song, this Outro is the same 4 chord progression played at the beginning of the song in the intro. As Kenny finishes picking the riff the third time the in intro you want to play the chords in parenthesis with one strum each as he plays the few notes. Note that the D on
