Judy Collins' version doesn't have a guitar either, but the piano accompanyment can be approximated on guitar. It's interesting how Donovan's version is dark, moody and depressing, while Collins' is bright and upbeat. I like both. The idea is to follow the bass run from measure to measure. Here is how I fingerpick the opening/ending run of the song to give the same feel as the piano: C C/B Am Am/G e-|-0------0------0------0-------| B-|---1------1------1------1-----| G-|-----0------0------2------2---| D-|------------------------------| A-|-3------2------0--------------| E-|----------------------3-------| I use the following picking pattern: --2-------2-------| ----1-------1-----| ------T-------T---| ------------------| --T-------T-------| Opening run: C C/B Am Am/G, repeat several times
