Once upon a time there was a gFirl around smGiles and silver shDoes She thought she was in this dreadful tFime and didn't knGow what to dDo, she said there ain't gonna be no gFuarantee I kGnow it from the heDart but an outcast would get there in the eFnd without the neGed to act and preDtend, cause you know
Cthat I wanna hold you Gyeah unfold you you looking gDood girl Cand I don't need to see you Gbut I wanna feel you cause I nDeed you girl
And upon another time there was a bFoy falling heGadfirst towards the flDoor and no, my friends, it wasn't captain MForgan this time but the cGircus inside that broken dDoor, he thought This happy city is soon faFlling apart I kGnow it from the hDeart Be quiet and drive me far aFway because it aGin't the place to sDtay, yeah you know
Cthat I wanna hold you Gyeah unfold you you looking gDood girl Cand I don't need to see you Gbut I wanna feel you cause I nDeed you girl
B..But tG..to my knees I prDay that yoGu'll be there for mDe B..But tG..to my knees I pAray for you but it won't be the tDime
F G D D F G D hold up
Is that a feeling a cFhange or just anGother soaked in whiskey, coke and bDeer Keep your head up high you shouldn't have no fFear but the tGime keeps whispering in my eDar I want my mother to sFee me walking down that aile please wGait for me I'll be there in a wDhile and everything will work out just fFine you'll see but until then,G where's my bottle of J&Damp;amp;B, yeah you know
Cthat I wanna hold you Gyeah unfold you you looking gDood girl Cand I don't need to see you Gbut I wanna feel you cause I nDeed you girl
B..But tG..to my knees I prDay that yoGu'll be there for mDe B..But tG..to my knees I pAray for you but it won't be the tDime
--- In the 'but to my knees' bit it sounds like he sings 'but until my knees', but that makes no sense so I just left it as it is. There's also a little break in two places, but I don't know exactly what he plays there so i just left it out, works well enough without it. Also, I don't think he plays just standard chords in the chorus, but compared to all other versions of this song out there this is at least the right base chords.
