GIf you ever go across the sea to D7Ireland
Then maybe at the closing of your Gday
You will sit and watch the moon rise over CCladdagh
And D7see the sun go down on Galway GBay
Just to hear again the rippling of the D7trout stream
See the women in the meadows making Ghay
And to sit beside a turf fire in the Ccabin
And D7watch the barefoot gossoons at their Gplay
For the strangers came and tried to teach us D7their way
They scorn us just for being what we Gare
But they might as well go chasing after Cmoonbeams
Or D7light a penny candle from a Gstar
And if there's going to be a life D7hereafter
And somehow I am sure there's going to Gbe
I will ask my God to let me make my Cheaven
In D7that dear land across the Irish Gsea
So I can D7watch the sun go down on Galway GBay
