Here's an accurate tab of what Tweedy actually plays during his acoustic solo tours (i.e. the Sunken Treasure DVD) Drop D tuning with Capo on 2. e|------------------| B|------3~----------| G|----2---2---------| x3 D|----0----0~~------| A|----2-------------| D|-0~-0-------------| On the second open bass note, hit the chord with a down stroke (slight rake to it even) then an upstroke to the 3rd fret on the b string. Let both the chord and the 3rd fret b string ring for a good resonating sound close to what Tweedy gets when he plays.
