Geek in the Pink (Open Chords!)
orig. by Jason Mraz
I didn't see an easy way for beginners to play this song, and it's pretty catchy.
Here's an entirely open-chords version. (It's so much fun to play barred, though!)
Tip: on some of the chords, you may think the upper E string sounds a little
goofy, since it's so high. If that's the case, try muting it by lightly placing
your pinky on it. I do this for G, D and B7, but it's up to you.
Capo: 6th Fret (for same key as Mraz)
Verse/Chorus:
Em | C | Am | G | D
Pre-chorus:
Em | C | Am | G | B7
Bridge:
C | Em | B7 | Em
C | Em | B7
Verse:
EmLet the geek in the pink take a stab at it
CIf you like the way I'm thinking babe, you ain't got it
AmI may be skinny at times, but I'm fat full of rhymes
GPass me the mic and I'm-a Dgrab at it
EmWell, isn't it delicious crazy way that I'm kissing this baby
CListen to this, don't to miss it while it's hitting
AmSometimes you got to fit in to get in, but
GDon't ever quit 'cause soon I'm Dgonna let you in, but see
Pre-chorus:
EmI don't care what you might
CThink about me; you'll get
AmBy without if you want
G B7
Chorus:
EmI could be the one to take you home
CBaby, we could rock the night alone
AmIf we never get down, it wouldn't be a letdown, but sugar
GDon't forget what you already Dknow
EmI could be the one to turn you out
CWe could be the talk across the town
AmDon't judge it by the color, confuse it for another, you might re-
G-gret what you let slip Daway, like the geek in the pink
Bridge:
CHey baby, look at me
Emgo; From zero to
B7hero; You best take it from a
EmGeek like me; I can

EmDum-dums, who wouldn't care if you
