I noticed there were no tabs of Innocent Bones at all so I figured I would make my first
This is an alternate version of the song available for download on the Iron and Wine
for free… Personally I like it even better than the album version.
I cannot say this is dead on or anything but the chords seem to be right. The finger
is pretty simple to figure out once you have the chords so here they are. Quite frankly I
know the name of them I just did the individual notes by ear so I just named them E 1-3.
Capo 6th Fret
E1 E2 E3
e--x-----x----x---|
B--x-----x----x---|
G--1-----1----1---|
D—4/1—--4/2---4/4-|
A--x-----2----2---|
E--0-----x----x---|
During the finger picking at the 4/1, 4/2, 4/4 he simply picks 4 and immediately
the next fret 1,2,4 respectively… The first chord is used for the majority of it but he
to the other two during the last couple lines of each verse.
E1Cain got a milk-eyed mule from the auction
E1Abel got a telephone
E1And even the last of the blue-eyed babies know
That the E2burning man is the E3color of the end of dE1ay
And how every E2tongue that gets bit always E3has another word to saE1y
I realize this isn’t perfect but its better than nothing, I would appreciate any
or help with it, so just email me at jnc26@drexel.edu if you have any helpful thoughts.
