GSunday 10th of july dawned bright and Dclear as members gathered
to board the Emcoach for the annual outing.
GArriving at ludlow the club members settled down to Clunch
and then to sketching the Dcastle and town.
CArtists were to be seen in various Dattitudes,
some drawing Gbuildings, others sketching the Dartists.
Mr rowley was to be Cseen propped in doorways, Gsitting on kerbstones,
or Cdraping himself langourously on Dpeople's doorsteps.

At G7 o'clock in the evening it was decided Dby certain members
that the return Emjourney should be via tenbury and the Bm100 house where, Cnaturally,
it was intended a stop should be Dmade.
Once there the more Emdegenerate members Drevelled in the spectacle of the secretary,
well Gknown for her temperate habits,
enDdeavouring to down the contents of a Empint tankard,
others were Daccepting their pints with such alacrity
that Ceventually it proved Dnecessary to extricate their owners
from Cbeyond the swing doors on the Dpretext of a group Amphotograph.
As we Gcontinued towards Ddroitwich mr vic andrews Emgave us a solo,
apparantly, Ghe alone knew the words, Cand the bus microphone was employed
to good effect by mr Dsam bailey, who gave a Cfine rendition of
"suzhanna's a funicle Dman".
We have Goften heard this being sung but now we have Dseen it
we realise why it Calways makes people Dlaugh.

Our Gdriver, somewhat mellowed by our stop Dthen took over the microphone
and Emdespite notices which stated that it was Bmnot to be used
when the bus was in Cmotion, gave us an excellent Dimitation
of bing crosby, Cmeanwhile driving with one Dhand.
A further attempt was made to Gstop and have another, but mr Drowley steadfastly Crefused.
Mr newman was last seen Dstaggering along station road
with a Cnightwatchman's lamp held on Dhigh,
but those at the back of the bus reported that he Emdid return it before
Dsetting off homeward with an unusually Gjaunty step.
DAs we walked home we Emthought what a good Gday it had been,
and hoped we Cshould have another such in the very Dnear future!
